Individual Proposal
I am going to be looking at the farms where produce is grown and harvested. I will be looking at issues such as how the farms are started, where the initial start up money comes from before there is produce to sustain a cash flow? How big are these sorts of farms when they are started? What crops are grown locally in Syracuse? Are local farmers receiving any sort of government loans or other funding? I will also be looking into competition of these farms, do they fight over share holders, are there other precedents in this local area of farms being run for local consumption? There are many issues that will be looked at when discussing these farms. My piece of the overall group project with be in the beginning of the overall arc of our project.

Your topic is an important one to research. I think you've already got really good questions to think about when you are doing your research. Another thing you could look into is what crops are seasonally grown in Syracuse. Obviously farmers won't have their crops year round, so how do they profit in the off-season?
I want to see where all of these farms are and how local they claim to be. Im also curious to see the standards to which these farms are held to in terms of pesticides and cultivation rules.
where are u going to get this info from? are u going to interview farmers that we met at the farmers market? or are u going to some how find other local farmers? I think your research is really important and will help out our project alot but I would just like to know how you plan on getting all this information together!
